Polyurethane (PU) concrete is a seamless flooring system known for its extreme durability, chemical resistance, and hygienic properties. It is widely used in food processing plants, pharmaceuticals, and heavy industries.
The principle categories that could be related to polyurethane concrete, or cementitious urethane slurries are antimicrobials (marketed with a health claim), phthalates (orthophthalates) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in wet, applied products.
Vebro Polymers does not incorporate antimicrobial additives into our PU concrete. Instead, hygiene is achieved through the system’s inherent properties — a dense, seamless, non-porous surface that prevents harbouring of bacteria without relying on Red-List chemicals.
